Privacy Policy

This policy covers Rolefront (the public job board at this website) and the Job Stream app for Shopify, both operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [OPERATOR POSTAL ADDRESS] (“we”). Contact: privacy@rolefront.com.

1. Candidates (people who apply to a job)

What we collect

  • What you type into an application form: first name, last name, email address, optional cover letter, and the resume file you upload.
  • The job you applied to, the time of submission, and whether you applied on Rolefront or on the employer’s own online store.
  • Your IP address at submission time, kept briefly to prevent spam and abuse.

Why and on what basis

To deliver your application to the employer who posted the job and to let them contact you about it. This is processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with the employer, and our legitimate interest in running a secure service. We do not sell your data, build profiles, or use it for advertising.

Who receives it

The employer who posted the job receives your complete application (by email and in their dashboard) and becomes an independent controller of it from that moment; their own privacy policy applies to what they do next. Providers processing data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and file storage), our managed database provider, and Amazon Web Services (email delivery, EU region). Some providers may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards.

How long

Your application stays available to the employer until they delete it, close or delete the job, or uninstall the app; we delete an employer’s data after their uninstall is confirmed by Shopify (normally within 48 hours). Independently of that, we delete applications 24 months after submission.

2. Employers (Shopify merchants using the Job Stream app)

  • We store your store domain, store email address, plan name, the settings you enter (company name, website, logo, notification email, listing colours) and the job posts you create.
  • Every job you post with the app is published publicly on Rolefront for as long as it is active. Closing or deleting a job removes it from Rolefront immediately. This is disclosed when you first open the app and in the app listing; it is a condition of using the free app.
  • Applications you receive via Rolefront are forwarded to your notification email and shown in the app.
  • When you uninstall the app, jobs are unpublished at once and all your data (jobs, applications, files) is deleted when Shopify sends the mandatory shop-redaction webhook, at the latest 48 hours later. Shopify customer data is never accessed by the app.

3. Everyone: browsing data

Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) are kept for security and debugging for a short period. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Necessary cookies are used only inside the Shopify admin app for authentication.

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. For data we hold, email privacy@rolefront.com; we answer within 30 days. For data already forwarded to an employer, please contact that employer directly.

5. Changes

We will post updates on this page and change the date above. Material changes affecting employers are also announced inside the app.
